Anonymous WorkPrints, Publications
Design of the promotional materials for the theatre play “Anonymous Work” by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz, directed by Jan Englert.
The scenario tells the story of the growing social crisis. Witkacy wrote his drama in 1921, but his insights are surprisingly up to date – the director wanted to draw attention to the growing brutality within the society, political debates bigotry, radicalization of social movements.
The inspiration for the prints accompanying the show was the banners used for marches of rightwing circles held in Warsaw in the months preceding the premiere performance. Produced ad hoc, with very simple typography, inept typesetting and limited colors they
formulate a direct, yet brutal statement. Therefore for the program design we used Arial Bold as the typeface – its rough expression was the core element. Combined with the limited set of colors it created a strong, dynamic effect.
